Through Babs Au Pair Agency, we guide you step by step towards a carefully selected host family. Thanks to our personal support, you can start this unforgettable adventure well prepared and with confidence.

Step 1 – Free and No-Obligation Registration

Your adventure begins with a free, no-obligation online registration. Complete the online registration form and tell us more about yourself, your experience, and your preferences. We also ask you to send us a Dear Family letter and a few recent photos by email.

Step 2 – Personal Interview

After receiving your registration, we will contact you for a personal interview. During this conversation, we will discuss your expectations, childcare experience, interests, and the countries where you would like to work as an au pair. This helps us get a clear picture of your wishes and allows us to look for a host family that is truly the right match for you.

Step 3 – Finding Your Host Family

After the interview, we will send your profile to one of our trusted partner agencies abroad. They will introduce you to carefully screened host families who match your profile and preferences.

When both you and the host family are enthusiastic about the match, we will start the placement process together.

For our personal guidance and placement services, we charge a one-time fee of €150. This includes support throughout the entire process, from the initial interview and search for a suitable host family to your departure.

Step 4 – Required Documents

Depending on the host country, you may need to provide the following documents:

• A medical report;

• A reference confirming your childcare experience;

• A character reference;

• A Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) or police clearance certificate;

• A Curriculum Vitae (CV);

• A copy of your driving licence (if applicable);

• A copy of your passport;

• Recent passport photos or other recent photographs.

If you are a resident of an EU country and are travelling to another EU country, you generally do not need a visa. Different rules may apply for destinations outside the European Union. Please keep in mind that visa applications, if required, may take some time to process.

Step 5 – Getting to Know Your Host Family

Before you leave, you will receive detailed information about your host family, including:

• a profile of the host family;

• a Dear Au Pair letter;

• photos of the family;

• an overview of your daily tasks and schedule.

You will already have contact with your host family beforehand, giving you the opportunity to get to know each other and making sure you know exactly what to expect during your stay.

Step 6 – Ready for Departure

Once all the necessary documents have been arranged and your placement is confirmed, you can start preparing for your departure. We will also be there for you during this final stage, providing advice and guidance so that you can begin your au pair adventure with peace of mind and confidence.
